Fun project ideas using my cut and stitch fabric doll panels ❤
I’ve always been very fond of all of the printed cut and sew dolls from the late 19th & early 20th century eras. Here are my versions! They are a combination of printed cloth dolls and photos of some of the antique dolls in my collection.
Most of my printed dolls are 8-1/2 inches tall. Though there are a few exceptions. Each doll panel that you buy includes two mirrored doll images, so that you can sew them together back to back, or use them separately with a plain fabric backing, or for applique work. The dolls are printed on high quality 100% cotton fabric and are completely washable. There is extra fabric surrounding each doll that will allow for a ¼ inch seam allowance. The dolls may be sewn with right sides together, turned and stuffed, machine stitched from the front side, trimmed and stuffed, or appliqued onto other projects. They may also be cut out and used for journaling and other multi-media projects. Add bits of fabric, lace, crepe paper and Dresden trims to create doll clothing.
I’m doing something a tiny bit different for this month’s release of new dolls… This month I’m focusing on something for those of you who long to experience the pleasure of creating an Izannah Walker doll yourself ❤ I’ve made up a bunch of my Izannah Walker Doll Making Kits and a few extra papier-mache heads, in case anyone who already has a kit, or my Izannah Walker Dollmaking Class, needs an additional head. Normally I make the kits one at a time, after you place your order, so there is a wait of at least 5 weeks before they ship.

Paula Walton’s Izannah Walker Doll Making Kit
I have four full kits and three extra heads that can ship out on Monday. After those are gone any additional orders will be made to order and won’t ship out for at least 5 weeks. If you want me to paint your papier-mache head it will take at least 2 additional weeks, but may take more because I’m just swamped with orders at the moment, and I have a few surprises in the works too!
You may order and check out below. If it turns out that I’ve already sold the kits and heads I have on hand, I’ll email you and you can decide if you’d like to wait for me to make you a kit/head, or if you’d prefer to cancel your order. If you want to place a kit/head on lay-away email me at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Izannah Walker Doll Making Kit
Have you always wanted to try your hand at making a reproduction Izannah Walker doll?
If so, this kit is for you! My kit will enable you to make a faithful representation of an 18 inch antique Izannah Walker doll. This new kit is less challenging than my Izannah Walker Doll Making Class, which teaches you to make Izannah’s traditional pressed cloth heads.
Instead, the kit comes with a molded composition head, cast in a mold made directly from Isane, an antique Izannah Walker doll in my collection. Also included in the kit are patterns for the doll’s body, under garments and two dresses plus a 31-page instruction booklet filled with detailed color photographs.
This kit is suggested for experienced seamstresses who are also well versed in painting with oils.
KITS WILL SHIP FROM MY STUDIO APPROXIMATELY 5 - 9 WEEKS AFTER YOU PLACE YOUR ORDER.
Izannah Walker Doll Making Kit with Painted Head
If you do not feel confident enough to paint the doll’s head yourself, you may commission me to paint it for you. This will require at least an additional two weeks.
SHIPS FROM MY STUDIO APPROXIMATELY 7 - 12 WEEKS AFTER YOU PLACE YOUR ORDER.
Additional Molded Composition Heads for use with Izannah Walker Doll Making Kit
Want to make another doll? Buy a second head to use with the patterns and instructions in your kit. If you would also like me to paint the head, at least two more weeks will be required.
Only available to customers who have already purchased the full kit.
I will paint the head myself $165.00
Approximate Shipping Time: 5 – 9 weeks
Have Paula paint the head $340.00
Approximate Shipping Time: At least 7 – 12 weeks
Email email@example.com to purchase. Please provide the date you ordered your original kit. After I receive your email I will invoice you via Paypal.
For February’s (snow delayed) Third Thursday I have two one small little Izzy’s who are looking for loving homes ❤ The larger doll is made from my mold of the antique Lizzybit. She is 16 inches tall. Her smaller companion is 14.5 inch tall Izzybelle.
This month’s theme is little sisters, with a focus on paint surface details. Both of these dolls present an aged appearance, like that of original surviving antique Izannah Walker dolls. Some of you, who follow my Izannah Walker Journal, will be familar with the original, highly adventuresome Izzybelle. You’ll know that she has gone through some rough times and has been greatly loved during her long lifetime. For this particular younger sister of Izzybelle I have removed some of the original doll’s worst damage, leaving you this glimpse of how pretty and sweet the original doll must have been in her youth. ❤
The fabric for the doll’s dresses is a wonderful previously unused mid-19th century dot print. The color is reminiscent of sunny summer marigolds, ripe autumn pumpkins, and the golden hues of seashells on a windswept beach…
The dolls and extra dress are offered for sale on a first come basis. The way it works is simple. If you would like to purchase one of the dolls, or the dress, email me at firstname.lastname@example.org. I’ll go by the time stamp when I receive your email to determine whose request is first.
The dolls are $1250.00 each, and the dress is $225.00, which includes free shipping to any address in the continental U.S. Dolls are mailed via USPS Priority Mail and are insured for their full value. International Orders will be charged exact postage + a $10.00 handling fee for all international locations, except Canada, to help off-set the time it takes me to deal with customs forms – and in many cases the requirement that I actually take the package to the post office rather than scheduling it for pick-up.
Payment may be made via PayPal, credit card, personal check, or lay-away. Sales tax is 6.35% if I am shipping to a Connecticut address.

I’m keeping my fingers crossed that the snow on Thursday morning will be tolerable. If it is too bad I’ll need to chauffeur back and forth to nursery school. In that event, the dolls will still post at noon – but I won’t be able to access and answer emails right away. So it may be some time before you will know if you were the first person to request a particular doll…
February is a month of snow & ice here in New England… even more so this particular February. Winter wonderland beauty brings it’s own challenges.

this sweet girl was a special order doll in 2013 ❤
Red! ❤ Such a wonderful color and such a challenge for me to find when I am searching for antique fabrics! I’ve had a small quantity of floral striped red fabric stashed away for several years. I had been planning to make dresses from it for my antique Izannah Walker dolls… When I was contemplating Valentine’s Day and trying to think of something a tiny bit special to mark the day, I decided instead that I should use that fabric for a very tiny little Valentine’s Day Pop-Up Dress Shop!
Zanna and Isabeau offered to be today’s models. ❤ I had just enough fabric to make three dresses, these two matching long sleeved dresses, with a single growth tuck in each skirt, and a third make-do dress with short sleeves and a “false hem” of coordinating off-white and red fabric.
1. & 2. – ONE DRESS IS SOLD – ONE AVAILABLE The two matching long sleeved dresses are finished and available for sale. They have 7 inch long skirts, so they are perfect if you’d like a shorter skirt for an 18 – 19 inch doll dressed as a younger child, or if you have slightly smaller doll made from my Anna mold. These dresses are too large for any of my Izzybelles. $225.00 each, which includes free shipping to any US address. There is no sales tax unless you are a Connecticut resident (6.35%). Please email me at firstname.lastname@example.org if you wish to purchase dresses 1 and/or 2. Sold on a first come basis. Payment by Paypal, credit card, personal check, or lay-away.
3. – Dress three is not quite done… today has been a wild winter’s day. My best made plans were torn asunder by icy weather and a dead car battery, so I have been ferrying my near and dear ones back and forth to schools for most of the day. ❤ I’ll post the third dress just as soon as I put in the final stitches, so please check back! Dress 3 will be the same as dresses 1 & 2, except it will have short gathered and banded sleeves, no growth tuck and a “false hem” with a different off-white and red print antique fabric used for the hem on the inside of the skirt. It will also be priced at $225.00.
Welcome to my December 2nd Pop Up Shop, with offerings themed especially for St. Nicholas Day! Many years ago, when my sons were quite young, we lived in Minnesota where my children’s nursery school and many of our neighbors celebrated St. Nicholas Day on December 6th. On the evening of December 5th the children would put their shoes by the front door and leave carrots in the shoes for St. Nicholas’ horse. In the morning they would discover that St. Nicholas had filled their shoes with small toys and treats. ❤ My boys always loved this early December celebration, which heralded in the Christmas season. It was one of my favorite things too… after all what could be better than a holiday celebration in which shoes play a major role? You can probably guess that means I am extremely partial to shoes, which I freely admit 🙂 Doll shoes, baby shoes, new shoes, old shoes… I love them all! So in honor of St. Nicholas Day, and shoes, I am offering the following items for sale.
It’s a busy day in the doll’s house, as the dolls decorate the parlor and set out their shoes for St. Nicholas. Down in the kitchen freshly baked gingerbread has been left to cool, before being made into into houses…. Drawn by the irresistible smell of their very favorite food, a trio of bears have come to call & made themselves at home.
Almost everything is one of a kind. If you are interested in purchasing an item, or items, please email me at email@example.com. In the case of more than one person wishing to buy an item, it will go to the first email received. If for some reason the transaction isn’t completed then I will contact the 2nd person in line and ask if they would like to buy the item in question. Everything includes FREE PRIORITY MAIL through USPS to any Untied States address. International Orders will be charged exact postage + a $10.00 handling fee for all international locations, except Canada, to help off-set the time it takes me to deal with customs forms – and in many cases the requirement that I actually take the package to the post office rather than scheduling it for pick-up. Canadian orders will be charged exact postage.
Payment: Paypal – I will send you an invoice – please provide me with the email address you use for your Paypal account. Credit Cards – If you want to use a credit card, but would rather not go through Paypal, I will be happy to process your credit card. I will call you to get your credit card number, expiration date and security code. Please provide your telephone number. Personal Checks – Payable to Paula Walton and sent to 172 Aspetuck Ridge Road, New Milford, CT 06776-5611. Lay-away is also available to fit your budget. A deposit will be due now with equal monthly payments to follow.
Shipping ~ If you order before 6 p.m. Eastern Standard Time on Sunday 12/2 and pay with Paypal, I will make sure that your order ships out on Monday morning! Depending on where you live, this may make it possible for your items to get to you by Wednesday, December 5th, just in time for St. Nicholas Day… fingers crossed! Although if you are like me, I keep my St. Nicholas themed decorations out until after Christmas.

I’ve made them crepe paper rosettes, but you could certainly remove the rosettes and add your own trimmings. These shoes close with white mother of pearl buttons, two of which are missing. If you would like replacement buttons, I can add two antique buttons, but I don’t have an exact match.

Z – $44.00 Unique Vintage Baby Bear. I’ve never seen a bear like this before. She wears a pink oil cloth bib and has a hinged metal mouth, with a hole that leads to her “tummy” which is accessed via a zipper in her back. I’m assuming that the idea is that a child could “feed’ her, then the “food” could be removed by unzipping her back. Sewn joints, considerable moth damage, but still very cute in a zoomy kind of way 🙂 To top everything off she is wearing pink shoes!
AA – $35.00 Happy, Hug-able, Vintage Mohair Bear w/Velvet Paw Pads. Cute fully jointed bear. Some moth damage and a loose neck joint which makes it possible for the head to crock to one side and nod, which is actually very charming. ❤
BB – $95.00 Handmade fully jointed bear, antique white mohair, rod jointed arms and legs, disk jointed neck, glass eyes. My own original design ❤
Thank you for coming to my December 2nd Pop-Up Shop ❤
