The Dolls Have a Slumber Party – Happy 197th Birthday Izannah – Part Three

Doll's slumber party www.izannahwalker.com

The dolls are all nestled together around a roaring fire.  They are so glad that you came to join them tonight!  This is the very last part of our all day celebration of Izannah Walker’s 197th birthday.  If you missed the first two parts of our party you will want to scroll down or click here for part one and here for part two.

"Does everyone remember how to play Shadows, or should we reread the rules?"
Now that you are here it is time for the party to start. “Does everyone remember how to play Shadows, or should we reread the rules?”
"That was so much fun!" "Please pass the popcorn" "Is there anymore hot cocoa?" "Izzybelle, you are hogging all of the shawl!"

Hmmm... I still here a lot of whispering and giggling in there. It sounds as if the dolls have been listening at keyholes again for they all seem to know about the new baby girl that is due to join our family in January.

Tomorrow we will have to have a very stern chat about what is proper and what is not.

For some of the dolls are certainly old enough to know better!

... but for tonight I can not bear to scold them. For what is dearer to any dolls heart than the thought of having another small girl to play with? So sleep tight little dolls and dream of play time and adventures yet to come <3

I guess this would explain the doll's sudden urge to dust the high chair every time they walk past...

  1. Hi Paula, I enjoyed the entire birthday party day and all the festivities. A NEW little Girl? is this maybe a real live baby girl? Maybe a granddaughter? Hope so. Love, Mary Goddard.

  2. Hi Paula,
Thank you so much for the wonderful day – what a special day you planned and shared with us! Your pictures were just as sweet as can be, and were just so much fun to look at, and I looked forward to each new installment with eager anticipation. Andrew was such a trooper – hauling the goodies to the picnic, and entertaining the girls with bedtime ghost stories. Thanks to you, many of us and our dolls enjoyed a fun and special day honoring the women who created the first doll of this type, and it doesn’t escape me that this is a day to honor as well, the talented doll maker who has carried on the tradition of fine craftsmanship and artistry as the first dolls many, many years ago – that would be you! Your many years of hard work and dedication to produce the finest reproductions of Izannah Walker dolls would make Izannah Walker proud. Thank you for all that you do to make so many people happy with not only your beautiful dolls, but the fun and informative posts that you share with us. And a big congratulations on the new little girl – your first granddaughter – that will be joining your family in January! There are many fun doll days ahead! Love, Susie

    1. Susie,
You’re welcome, it was my pleasure. Izannah Walker has obviously been a huge inspiration to me as a doll maker and to even be mentioned in the same breath as Izannah is a huge compliment! I do try very hard to make the best dolls I possibly can, in part because I’m driven to try and live up to the very high standards that Izannah’s original dolls set and in part because I truly love and enjoy the people I make dolls for! You make it all worthwhile ❤
Thank you! We are really looking forward to her.
      Love,
      Paula

  3. A NEW BABY GIRL!! More reasons to celebrate!! What a grand Slumber party! Something to chatter about for years to come!!
What excitement awaits the Dolls that are headed to new homes and adventures!
Andrew should be commended for such good behavior amongst all those girls! :-D. ( He must have been very tired, for he missed his opportunity to frighten to chattery gilrs )!!!
I must say that this was a wonderful way to express Izannah Walker’s Birthday! Thank you for a lovely lovely time!
Many Blessings, Linnie and Betany 🙂

    1. Linnie,

Andrew was a trooper, but then he is used to having sisters 🙂 The dolls wore themselves out last night and are still sleeping in. There is no telling how late they stayed awake whispering and chatting. I strongly suspect that Andrew may have been prevailed upon to tell a few more ghost stories…
I’m just thrilled that you and Betany enjoyed visiting with us!
      ❤ Paula

  4. Well., what a day you have had. Congratulations on a rousing success. And further felicitations on your coming admission to the ranks of Grandparent;
It will add a new dimension to your life (as if you needed another) and brings such joy and hope to you and your husband . Thankyou for a lovely visit with you and the dolls, I loved the sleepover ,Andrew’s ghost stories reminded me of the minister’s son at a camp I went on many years ago , who did the same, but was reprimanded by his daddy the next morning. The old’ killjoy.
So I hope Andrew didn’t get growled at .’cos he was only havin’ fun .
    Love to all Janet

    1. Andrew is generally spoiled silly by both his sisters and me. He gets away with quite a lot! I would never fuss at him for telling ghost stories, since I enjoy hearing them myself. Andrew’s versions tend to be quite amusing and only a bit scary 🙂

Thank you for your congratulations! I love babies and would have had eight if I’d had my way, so I’m looking forward to finally having another one in the family ❤

      Paula
