Were you wondering what ever happened to the beautiful papier-mache doll that I was restoring several months ago? She has finally gone home. ❤ I had planned to return her to her owner at our March doll club meeting. Unfortunately the weather interfered with our meeting, which was cancelled due to snow 😦 I couldn’t attend the April meeting because I was out of town, so this doll got to stay with me until May. She was a perfect house guest!
Here are a few photographs of her after I did some minimal restoration. Just enough to let her beauty shine through, without erasing her age and grace.
Thank you for stopping by to visit!

Paula, I just went back and read the first posting from when you started with this doll. I know this wonderful doll appreciates you taking such loving care of her. The gentle repair you gave her is magnificent. Oh, I would love to see her all dressed after her owner finds her a lovely dress. Dolls like this one are becoming rare and she is a rare beauty.
Paula, the handmade body, hands, and fingers are so well made. Great time and care was put into building a body for such a wonderful head and shoulder.
Mary she has a magnificent body! It is all hand stitched with tiny meticulous stitches, especially the fingers ❤ I'm sure she will wind up dressed in something fabulous 🙂 She is large enough to wear children's clothing, so it shouldn't be hard to find her a wonderful wardrobe.

A rare and lovely doll! You did just the right amount for her in my opinion. Good Job! as we say to the grandchildren here. e
Thank you!
